My husband always talked about getting one of these. He's been through so many different game consoles, I wasn't surprised when he mentioned getting a Wii. Of course, they are hard to find. But I'd like to think we got lucky with ours. My husband only waited 45 mins., and was able to come home and then go back later to go and pick it up! We've gotten several games since then, but the favorite between my husband and me are the Wii Sports. You can play bowling, golf, tennis and boxing. We tend to bowl than any other sport. Although my son would tell you different. His favorite game as of late, is the new Mario Kart.
I've played it once, and what's really neat with this game is you have a steering wheel instead of just the controller. So when we came home tonight after running a couple errands, I'm sure you can imagine what my husband and son went to do.Madison wanted to give it a try, too. She got the steering down, but she wouldn't look at the tv.
After a couple rounds of that game, they tried the bowling, to which Jonathan beat Andrew both times. What I love about watching Andrew play this game, is that he's very theatrical. I mean, one leg will go up as both his arms go flying everywhere. And he's very proud of the way he bowls. It's so funny!
I love spending time with my family in a fun way like this. And I look forward to more of them!

A Must See Movie
So I was looking at the list of movies that I want to see, and figured I would start with this one. For one thing, my husband had bought it when it came out, and I had heard that it was a must see. I liked it. I really did. It's quirky, and pulls at your heartstrings, too. If you haven't seen this yet, go and rent it or buy it. You won't be disappointed.

In Her Own Words
I've always loved this story. So when our son was about 2 years old, we bought him the book for Christmas. We read it to him as often as we could, but as he got older, it was put on the shelf and forgotten about. That is until we figured it was time to read it to our daughter. So every night, whose ever turn it is to put her to bed, after her prayers, we read her this book. Now, a while back, she started picking up on certain words, so we let her say them. It's fun to read this story with her.
Earlier today, she had gone into her room, and I overheard her say the last sentence of the book, "Goodnight noises everywhere," and I was soo excited! Those are long words!
Well, then after dinner, she started saying everywhere, so I asked her if she wanted to read her nuh-night book. She, of course, wanted to. But this time, she went through the entire book, saying the words she knew, and in her own language, the ones we usually say. And just like she is, she was very focused and determined to finish it. I think my favorite word, was her very quiet "hush."
It was so cute to hear her read this book, and be serious about it.
I'm looking forward to the day when she reads it to me!

Feeling A Bit Under The Weather
Today hasn't been the best day for me. I woke up early this morning with that all over achy feeling. I felt warm and then cold, my nose was stuffy and I had a headache. I took ibuprofen to take the achiness away, and thankfully that did help. My hubby is the best, though. He's been taking care of me and keeping the kids occupied while I've been sleeping. Thankfully, this wasn't the flu, maybe just some 24 hr bug I picked up somewhere. Gotta keep on the vitamins and fluids if I want to kick this. Let's hope tomorrow is a better day, oh and that my family doesn't get it.

19 Years In The Making
I am a HUGE fan of Harrison Ford, so when the rumors of a fourth Indiana Jones movie turned into a reality, I couldn't believe it. I was beyond happy, more like ecstatic!
The first Indy movie I saw was Raiders of the Lost Ark. When I was younger, and the scene in this movie, where that guy's face melts, I remember my Dad always telling us to close our eyes. Seeing that now as an adult, I'm sure glad he did. Of course, I'm also seeing that through different eyes, and it's really not that scary to me. There is one scene that always made me giggle, when the girl writes Love You on her eyelids so Indiana could see it.
I don't really remember in great detail when I saw the second Indiana Jones movie, Temple of Doom. If my memory serves me right, an old friend, Jessica, had it and when she came over for a sleepover, she brought that with her. I figured it would be as good as the first one. I'm sure it was, but there were too many uncomfortable moments that dealt with unGodly things. I haven't seen that one since. The third one, The Last Crusade, I have to say is my all time favorite. So many scenes to choose from that are my favorite! I think what makes this my favorite Indy movie is how this is like a treasure hunt. And all the obstacles he has to go through to get to the Cup of Life. Some more memorable ones are when his dad (played by Sean Connery) keeps calling him Junior, and Indiana finally has had enough and grabs a gun from a soldier and shoots them all. And then says, And don't call me Junior! Another great one, was when Indy and his dad are climbing onto the plane that was attached to the zepplin they were riding on, and his dad says, I didn't know you could fly a plane. And Indiana says, Fly, yes. Land, no. There are so many to choose from, but my all time favorite was after the four guys had left the place where the grail was, and they were getting ready to leave, and Sallah asks: Please, what does it always mean, this... this "Junior"? So Henry Jones says: That's his name. [points to himself] Henry Jones... [points to Indy] ...Junior. Then Indiana Jones says: I like "Indiana". In which Henry says: We named the dog Indiana. Then Sallah says: The dog? [starts laughing] You are named after the dog? HA HA HA...! And then Indy says: I've got a lot of fond memories of that dog. Oh I could on and on, but I won't.

The fourth one, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, doesn't come out for a couple more weeks, but we have our calendars marked and hoping to have that night out to see it. I've read that there may be more, but with Harrison turning 66 this year, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'll write more about it once I've seen it. Until then...

Madison's First Haircut
Well, the inevitable has happened. My baby has gotten her hair cut. Well, she's really not my baby anymore, but since we aren't having anymore children, she is considered, to me anyways, my baby. I'm thrilled with how it looks. It makes Maddie look a little older, but her hair needed to be shaped up a bit.
She did awesome! She liked to look at herself in the big mirror while her hair was being cut. And thankfully she didn't get bored, so her hairdresser was able to do it quite quickly. I was amazed!
Her hair is longer in the back, and has a natural curl. Now, I wasn't about to let go of those curls, so she just thinned our her hair and put in a couple layers. Plus, and I love this, she gave her bangs!!
What I like the most about her hair, for right now, is that it's very manageable. I just have to add a little mousse, scrunch it a bit and voila! That's my kinda hairstyle!
How cute is she! That's my big girl!!
