Quick And Easy Meal

Living in an apartment has its limitations. I won't really get into all those, but one that I wish was more flexible are the usage of a grill. Now granted we do live on the 2nd floor so it'd be kinda hard and very dangerous to do grilling on our teeny balcony. So the other day hubby and I were at our local Target where they were selling that Big City Slider. Well we tried it out tonight. So easy to do! You have to use regular dinner rolls as buns, but otherwise it's the same as a homemade hamburger. I was thrilled beyond belief! My kids really enjoyed them too! I haven't tried the other ideas in their little book, but I'm ready to find out. Check this out!

Mistaken Identity

I think identical twins are a such a wonder. Twins run in our family on both sides. My mom has twin sisters and my dad is a twin. I was always thankful during both my early ultrasounds that there was only one baby. That's definitely a challenge that would've been rather, well challenging for us. I'm sure it would've been fun and lots more work that just a single baby, but God bless all those women out there who have had twins! Anyways, back to the point. As my dad and his brother have gotten older, it seems like they have days where they look so much a like and then others where they definitely look like brothers, but not twins. So the last couple of Sundays my daughter, who is 3, sees my uncle and thinks it's my dad. She gets excited and yells, Papa! Yesterday she ran up to him, he lifted her up and she gave him a big kiss. She came back to my husband and me and kept pointing in his direction saying, Papa! Papa! We'd play along and say, oh is that your papa? She'd say, yep, uh huh. It's Papa. Gotta smile at that. I'm curious to see how she'd react to seeing them next to each other. That'd be a good Kodak moment!

A Book Worth Reading

You've heard me say this time and time again, but I LOVE to read! I can't help it. It's something I enjoy doing often. The only books I've been reading lately are ones about web designing and photo shop. (I'm starting to understand it all) But my brain is feeling like it's overwhelmed with all that info! So when my son and I were at the library today, of course I picked up another web designing book, but as we were talking about heading home this thought of a book I had read in middle school came to mind. The only thoughts that came to mind were wolves, the word blue, dolphins or whales, and a girl hiding. I tried those words in their computer and came up with nothing. Thankfully we have wonderful search engines and through yahoo answers I was able to get the title of the book. Island Of The Blue Dolphins. Do any of you remember reading that book? I know I'll appreciate it more reading it now than when I did in school. I'm so excited now! It's off to Barnes and Noble for me!

I've been slacking off on my blogging this past week. It's been kinda hard getting on here and putting down my thoughts. Only just this past week though. It'll be one week since my husband lost his job and we are all coping well. I'm so proud of him. As soon as he got home last week he signed himself up for unemployment.

Plus I feel like I'm being spoiled by having him home. And I have access to a car everyday. I haven't had that in 7 years. I know times are tough out there, but I'm staying optimistic that God will open a door into a job that my husband will like. A place where he is appreciated. Hopefully it won't take too long for that to happen.

On a bit of a lighter note, my son had his first orthodontic appointment on Monday. Phew is the first word that comes to mind! Our dentist made it sound like he was going to need braces asap. Fortunately the ortho doctor said probably not until he's 12. He had nothing but good news. But, he will need to have a couple baby teeth pulled so some permanent teeth that may come in soon will have the room these baby teeth won't give them. We'll see how all that goes down.

But for the time being, life hasn't changed. God is still in control and we're taking it one day at at time, waiting for His plan.

Ho Hum

That's how I'm feeling at the moment. Not the best title I suppose, but it'll be the word of the day just for me. I'm reading through my six books on web designing and feeling a bit overwhelmed. Of all the ones I have, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Creating a Web Page and Blog is the one that is helping me understand what all goes into, well web designing. I'm ok with it, I don't mind the reading, but I'm so wanting to get my hands dirty and try to design my own blog. I've got some ideas, colors and things, but unsure of my first step. In the book I'm up to finding a web hosting provider. I'm aware of a few, but it's all about the moolah. I can't just spill out my money for just anything. Ahh well. I guess that's about it. That's where I'm at right now, hopefully I'll get my chance soon.
